Project goal

This page was created as part of the honours course offered by the University of Amsterdam: Urban transformation, gentrification and inequality in Amsterdam. Through this page, we want to tackle the process of gentrification by the middle class in the case of Amsterdam and introduce some relevant concepts and public to the general public.

We chose a format of popular tourist guides in which we attempt to make a satire of some gentrification practices to outline in a light that some of them could be harmful to specific groups of society. We hope this will help raise awareness of the gentrification problems in general and stimulate discussion on how we- the middle class can influence it.
